A fresh wave of interest in baseball may soon land in Windsor, as plans emerge for a unique development in the region. While the city recently secured a $150,000 Field of Dreams grant from the Jays Care Foundation to upgrade the Father Cullen Baseball Stadium at Mic Mac Park local sports leaders are also exploring new team and league opportunities.
One standout initiative is the introduction of the Windsor Nationals, a promising baseball organization poised to compete in U.S.-based USSSA tournaments at AAA and Major levels. With player development at its core, the Nationals aim to make Mic Mac Park their home base and carve a path across states like Michigan and Ohio Together, these developments signal a revived enthusiasm for baseball in Windsor—blending community field upgrades with competitive team growth, and potentially reigniting the region’s storied love for the sport.
